Apartment Renovation
Project location - Kothrud, Pune
This project involved the refurbishing of an old apartment in a nondescript building. The apartment interior was re-designed keeping both contemporary and classic aesthetics in mind and utilizing space in the best possible manner.
Marble and wood is the basis of the design palette. We used the same type of tiles throughout the apartment and applied the dado effect in the kitchen with the same tiles.
One of the challenges we faced was that the apartment’s living room and the kitchen had five walls making it tricky to utilize the corners. But they were made functional by placing the kitchen service areas such as the washing machine and dishwasher in these corners.
We also selected a veneer and polish shade that we applied throughout the apartment. In addition, we child-proofed the apartment by ensuring that all the furniture had rounded edges.
